Ahhhh, Summer

SUMMER UPDATES ARE DUE!

Well, I've been going to AHEAD on Saturdays, reviewing for the SAT's, learning new things, trying to remember the things I've already "learned" and making a fool out of myself most of the time in Maths, if do say so myself. I'm really disappointing. Anyway, continuing my sessions this Saturday.

What next? I finally found a book by Ellen Hopkins, IMPULSE! Beautiful and depressing. Read it if you like!

The book is about three teenagers who are in a mental institution. The author tells their dark life stories wrapped in shame, depression and secret through beautiful verses.

Went to Anvaya Cove with EVERYBODY. Ha ha. Cousins and parents and titas and titos and lolas. Fun and pretty exhausting. Pictures are unavailable.

Went to Anvaya Cove with nuclear family fo Easter. Had a great time though the heat was utterly despicable. Gosh darn it.

ONE HIGHLIGHT OF SUMMER: JZONE (Jesus' Zone) EXPOSED Summer Camp with teenagers from CCF Malolos.

The people with absolutely friendly and nice! The retreat was held in Tagaytay in a span of three fun and memorable days. Met a lot of nice people, made new friends, got connected with spiritual self, forgot to bring shorts, ate nice tasting, refillable food, swam in the midnight, played in one amazing race, actually participated in singing, had an intense singing session (of one hour), got addicted to taking pictures with somebody else's camera and learned a lot about myself, others and well, God.

The next day, went to the Diamond hotel for Mum's conference where Belly and I failed to meet. Damn that.

AND LAST HIGHLIGHT:

I am studying electrical guitar! HOORAY.

Bummer, Mom won't let me use my OWN money to buy actual guitar. I mean, I know she wouldn't buy me one even if it will be for my birthday, and I'm not even asking for it because I know they think that my musical interest is just a fad though I've been guitar-ing for four years now, proving that it is an actuall interest. How the heck can I practice? Sheesh

BACK FROM TAGAYTAY

Hey. Just telling YOU about my/our trip to Tagaytay. We stayed at that not ultimately crappy but utensil-scarce inn, HOTEL KIMBERLY! I'm almost reviewing my experiences there.

THE ROOMS:
WHAT WAS OK:
  • the beds
  • the TV sets; Samsung flats, equipped with awesome DVD players
  • the air-conditioning
  • the ref had freezers
WHAT WASN'T (CRAP):
  • the abaka-esque sheets
  • the fact that there was NO cable
  • the craftsmanship of the doors
  • the fact that the room was not carpeted
  • the toilets had weak water
  • lighting
  • the freezers were too small
  • no complimentary fruits/coffee
  • no glasses for drinking

THE FOOD: We only ate breakfast but still
WHAT WAS OK:
  • variety of food on the menu
WHAT WASN'T OK (CRAP):
  • limited stock of food
  • toast cost P25.00 ($0.60 US) per HALF a friggin' slice of 6"x6" bread
  • inattentive waitresses
  • too small tables
  • place mats were laminated paper
  • scarcity of proper table napkins
  • Tapa was horibbly hard to eat
THE POOL & "LAGOON":
WHAT WAS OK:
  • pools were clean and free of leaves
  • my sister didn't drown
WHAT WASN'T OK (CRAP):
  • the pool wasn't heated despite the terribly cold weather
  • the pool was too small
  • the "lagoon" looked as if there were crocodiles living in it
  • the "lagoon" virtually had no use

Other than the hotel, we went to Sonya's Garden and the regularly visited and fabulous Cliffhouse. It was awesomely awesome! I gotta tell you, Buon Giorno is one of my favourite restaurants. Believe me, the food is great, the views and the ambiance are perfect and relaxing. Go on, go there... NOW.

FATTYNESSOSITY

My mom hid the chips for our trip tomorrow to Tagaytay. She thinks I would go off and eat it and hide it for myself. Do I look that hungry? God.
